Mission Statement
Project Helping Hand encourages and promotes community co-operation by bringing groups and individuals with the desire and means to help others, into contact with worthy projects; collects their free-will offerings and distributes them in areas of need. It provides a means by which the donors of the goods can experience the blessings of God in their lives, and the satisfaction and fulfillment that comes through unselfish giving to those in need.
Helping Hand developed from attempts to find practical ways to put Christian principles to work. The guiding goal is to bring God’s love to others. This is done by means of literature, one-on-one evangelism, dissemination of children’s educational material, personal visitation, inspirational Monday morning message, “The Fax of Life”, by fax and e-mail, programs in institutions for young victims of society, Bible studies and Christian education, training missionaries, and the gathering and distribution of goods to the poor with the aim that the recipients will be able to see and feel the love of God in their lives as they find that someone cares about them.
All services provided by Helping Hand are performed free of charge. They are distributed in such a a way as to bring about a change for the better. These services, or material goods (food, clothing, items, etc.) are distributed without regard for social or political circumstance, provided that the recipients fall within the general categories specified by Family Care Foundation, that further their tax-exempt purposes. Priority will usually be given to the needs of children.
Helping Hand is a channel for tax-deductable donations from U.S. donors. Also because of our tax-exempt, IRS 501(c)(3) status, any South African based business that pays U.S. taxes will be able to redirect those funds back into local South African humanitarian outreaches and thereby keep South African resources in South Africa
Helping Hand is an umbrella project of Family Care Foundation, a tax exempt, IRS qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in the United States.
